The cost of success

You have a choice of how you would prefer to pay for our services.

It can be on an hourly rate basis or a contingency fee basis. Most clients prefer to be charged on a contingency fee basis, in which case you do not have to pay anything for legal fees or disbursements until you receive compensation for your injuries. Your fees will be based on the amount of compensation you receive.

If you do not receive any compensation (and this has rarely happened to me in almost 30 years of practice) you do not pay anything for legal fees and disbursements. This way, you can be assured that you will receive a worthwhile return for your investment of legal costs.

If you are successful in the case, the defendant will usually make a contribution to your legal costs. In most cases, your legal fees will be limited to 20% of the amount recovered for damages and interest in addition to the amount of costs paid by the defendant, plus applicable taxes and any out of pocket expenses not paid by the defendant. These terms will be set out in a clear and understandable written agreement.
